Pat and Central Idaho River Shuttles did a great job for our Main Salmon trip in July, 2025. I had originally planned to use the company who did my lower Salmon shuttle last year but wasn't able to accommodate. Our group started out with the potential of having 9 vehicles to shuttle. Without hesitation, Pat took on the challenge. When the trip details were finalized, we were down to 4 vehicles. Pat communicated well with me as our trip plan came together. He was great at talking through details with one group member who had reached out to him directly, easing any concerns. I look forward to using CIRS again in the future!!

These guys did such an exceptional job shuttling our cars for a main salmon trip. We had a vehicle get a mechanical issue on our way out and they worked with us as we shuffled cars. Will be using them in the future. Thanks again!

They were incredibly friendly and easy to work with, making everything clear about what needed to be done. Our truck was waiting at the take-out spot when we arrived. Highly recommend!

We used CIRS for our August 2025 Selway trip. It was easy to coordinate with Pat and our rigs were waiting for us when we got to the take-out. No complaints and we will definitely use CIRS for future shuttles.

Pat and his crew ran my shuttle in August 2025 for main salmon. Unfortunately my Chevy heavy duty failed in route and the radiator cracked despite a 180,000 trouble free miles before my salmon shuttle. He coordinated with my family to get it fixed and when I got to the take out , tired with my family it was fixed and waiting for me! Thanks so much.

My family and I have used CIRS for the past 12 yrs. We used them this year for a SF Salmon trip. Pat and his crew have come through every time. His communication and follow through are top notch. We have had large groups, small groups, trailers, multiple drop points and vehicle issues (that were dealt with while we were on the river) and CIRS has come through every time for us. No hesitation in recommending them.

We used CIRS for our Main Salmon trip. All vehicles made it to the take out. There was an issue with my truck and the driver side door. The shuttle driver put a dent in my door leaving the parking lot in Salmon. I called Patrick to see what had happened, he was all apologies and told me what had happened. It would have been very easy for him to say the dent was not there when they left my truck at the takeout, but he was honest and offered to pay my $500.00 deductible even though the wavier says they are only responsible for a $100.00 deductible. There are not many shuttle companies out there, so we need to keep the good ones, and this is a good one.

This shuttle service is one of the best! I had issues come up with my car right before the river put in. The company helped take care of those and still got my car to the take out in time. I really appreciated their willingness to help!

Good service but poor communication. Without any news prior to the trip we ask per e-mail a confirmation that all was good but got no answer, also can’t joint them by phone. Then we ask to leave us a message on our satellit phone to confirm when the car was drop in carrey creek but got no message. Fortunatly the car was there when we arrive, but we where not sure about it until we saw it… except that it was all right.

Pat was able to accommodate us at short notice, which we very much appreciated! He was very responsive to queries and easy to get ahold of, either answering right away, calling back promptly when we left messages, or replying to emails. He was patient as we went back and forth on the trip decision, concerned as we were about fires and smoke. We would happily use Central Idaho again.

Recently used CIRS for a main Salmon shuttle. Everything up front was good, however when we arrived at the take out my trailer was missing from my truck. There was a hand written note on my dash stating that a weld had broken loose on my trailer and they had left the trailer on the Idaho side of Lolo pass.
While I was on the river my wife was contacted by the Idaho State Police in reference to an abandoned trailer. This gave he a bit of a shock.
My wife contacted Pat to get some details, which there were few. Pat did not see it himself, the driver did not take pictures. When my wife asked Pat what we were to do about it he told her we were on our own.
Thankfully at the take out we had enough other trailers going to the same destination we could double stack boats and get everything off the river. When we got back to phone service
I called Pat to see what was up.
Pat told me he had not seen it himself. It had been late in the night when the driver was running shuttle. Pat did assure me however, that the driver, who was a boater, said he thought it could be rigged to make it home...
So armed with this information we set off to Lolo pass to find my trailer. We contacted a friend in Missoula to make sure we could use a welder if needed to fix the weld that "gave out"
My trailer is a single axle tilting snowmobile trailer. There are 2 moving parts. 1.The pin at the front of the deck that you remove to allow the deck to pivot for loading. 2. The pin between the tongue and the axle that the deck pivots on. Both of these pins have handy little chains attached to them so they don't get lost.
It appears that the 2nd pin mentioned above, the one that the deck pivots on, had come out, and was hanging there from the chain. When we arrived it took us all of 2 minutes to put the pin back in and be on our way.
There was a broken weld on the trailer, non structural, my speculation is that it broke whenever the pin came out. I must also note that you would not notice the missing pin until you started braking downhill, causing the deck to pivot the wrong direction.
Fortunately for us we were headed over Lolo to get home. It was not hours out of our way like if we would have lived in Boise.
It was an extremely frustrating situation, a serious lack of information on what had happened with the trailer, the nonchalance of Pat with the issue at hand and no solutions offered.

Used Central Idaho River Shuttles for our Middle Fork of Salmon shuttle and had a 10/10 experience. It was easy to communicate and update the owner Pat when our plans changed (fire closed Boundary so we flew into Indian Creek) and he made the process so simple. If you’re on the fence trying to decide which shuttle company to utilize, jump off and trust these guys! Our vehicles were safely at the take-out when we arrived and everything worked out just as you hope it does when you leave a high value item like your truck and trailer with someone else. Will always used CIRS for all my Main and MF shuttles.

Worst shuttle company ever! Another story of no rig at take out. Jeep key fob too big for lock box that was brought for my keys, so we left notes on both the trip leaders rig and on my windshield, that my keys had to be locked in trip leaders rig, as they wouldn't fit in the lock box. Note was on top of his money envelopes with my keys ontop. They had to move the note and keys to drive it to Carey Creek takeout. The shuttle company stated that they moved the trip leaders rig first, didnt read any notes and drove my keys to the takeout and locked them in his rig. Effectively ending any chance to to make the shuttle. , Pat was rude to my wife while I was on the river when he called her, when we contacted him from Riggins and we asked what happened he gave the not our fault keus weren't in lock box soo.......he offered no help what so ever with anything. We asked if if I could catch a ride back to putin with next crew was told no room in shuttle van. I WAS FORCED TO HAVE ALL MY GEAR HAULED TO BOISE. I LIVE IN WASHINGTON 10HR DRIVE TO THE PUT IN. THEN 6HRS HOME. 10HRS BACK TO PUT IN, THEN SIX HOURS BACK TO BOISE TO GET MY GEAR, THE 5HRS BACK HOME TO WASHINGTON!!!!!! All rafters and kayakers should avoid these people. They are the worst part of humanity, to not care or offer any help is just not what we strive for in America. We as consumerss deserve customer service with a purchase of 520$. Their business practices will end their business eventually. So don't do business with them and they'll fade away like all sh!÷÷? Businesses do. Plus by not using them they'll fade away faster!
Update!!!!!
There is hope for humanity!!!! Pat the owner called the next morning wanting to apologize and offered to compensate me for the fuel to retrieve my rig. So I want to retract all that was said about poor customer service, and business practices.
Pat was smart enough to wait a day before calling( as he knew I was very upset. We talked about the challenges of shuttling rigs without enough drivers and the reasons for moving to lock boxes. He agreed as I do that we both owned part of the problem. And was very cordual and professional when we spoke. I changed my review from one star to five. The mere fact that he called to apologize speaks volumes to his character. He deserves and I will give him a second chance to shuttle my next salmon river float. He was honest about the screw ups and we agreed to put this behind us, as we both owned part of the issue. Carry on Pat.. I hope the best for you and your company.
Great job Pat! You renewed my faith in people

CIRS shuttled six of our vehicles to Cache Bar on time without incident. Pat answered all of our questions and requests before and after the shuttle. He also used his own money to put gas in one of the trucks that was low so that we'd make it out, just requesting that we pay him back after we returned. We are grateful for CIRS going above and beyond on our Middle Fork shuttle.

We have used CIRS for years and they have always delivered; vehicles in good condition, on time, no hassles. On our trip in June, CIRS accommodated multiple last minute changes in plans and did not charge us for the extra work. Pat is very professional. I plan to always use them for future trips.

Super happy with the service at Central Idaho River Shuttles. My car was in the same condition I left it in, change from gas fill up was included with a receipt, and logistics/set up were easy. Big thanks to Pat and the crew!

Always my go-to choice. Pat is communicative and gets the job done. I’ve put them through landslides, fires, late permit pickups, and god knows what else. They handle it and the truck is there every time. Highly recommend.

We have used CIRS the past two years. Last year everything went well so we used them again this year. They have you either mail your keys to them or place them into a key lock box of sorts (that customer provides). We had issues with one of the lock boxes at the put in at Corn Creek and immediately notified them via in reach text that that vehicles keys would be in another truck. His responded, "OK". No problem. When we got to the take out, a different vehicle (that also used a lock box) was not at the takeout. No information about this was to be found in any of the vehicles. Having no service at Cache Bar we had no idea if the truck was still at Corn Creek or if it was in Canada. We contacted Patrick Sullivan via the same in reach and his response was, "code to lock box didn't work". This was a mistake on our behalf, (DO NOT USE LOCKBOXES!) but no effort was put in to help us figure out what to do or how to get back to our truck at Corn Creek. When I (finally) was able to get ahold of Mr. Sullivan to ask for a full or partial refund for the services that were not performed he was incredibly rude and condescending to me. His statement was, "Not my fault, not my problem. No, I will not offer you anything". This companies lack of customer service skills is appalling. I will never use them again, nor will I recommend them to anyone.
Note: in the email I sent to him, I stated that there was also a pair of broken eyeglasses in one of the vehicles as well as a broken side mirror. I couldn't even bring that up to him because of the manner in which he was speaking to me. I had to hang up on him.

We have used Central Idaho River Shuttles for many years now. We used them again this year and everything went perfectly. They have been very accommodating on changes in our tip size. I highly recommend them for storing/shuttling vehicles. My last trip on the Main Salmon featured me breaking a leaf spring on my raft trailer. After contacting Patrick, he went the extra mile and went into Salmon to get my trailer and shuttled it all the way to Carey Creek. He was very helpful and kept me posted via satellite text. I will always use CIS. Tim Martin

2nd time I've used Central Idaho River Shuttles (Main Salmon Trip) and they did a great job. My 2 vehicles+trailer arrived as expected even when the drivers had to deal with navigating around wildfire at North Fork. I'm not sure if they were piloted through the burn or took the +3 hr. Panther creek way, but I can't thank them enough for dealing with that. They also stayed made themselves available to discuss the shuttle and wildfire issue prior to me leaving phone service. You'll get what you pay for from these guys and it was worth it for peace of mind!
